Business Banking Advisor (II)

Christian Credit Union is currently seeking a dynamic, service-orientated individual to join our team in the capacity of a Business Banking Advisor (II).

The Business Banking Advisor II is responsible for business development for commercial and agricultural enterprise accounts with lending needs of up to $3M, has lending limits and manages a portfolio of up to $30M.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of up to $30M of commercial and agricultural enterprise accounts with lending needs of generally up to $3M involving the annual review of the risk and profitability; monitors problem accounts and develops plans to minimize risk.
  • Builds relationships and participate in business development activities with existing clients, networks with external business organizations and individuals to generate referrals.
  • Represent the Credit Union at community events and functions.
  • Receives and analyzes financial and personal net worth statements; assessing and mitigates risks appropriately; negotiates terms and conditions of loan.
  • Identifies and pursues opportunities to promote other business services and non-credit products; reviews current portfolio to ensure clients have proper banking products.
  • Grants commercial or agricultural loans, mortgages and operating lines of credit for business purposes within lending limits; submits recommendations for credit to appropriate approval level.
  • Assist Business Banking Advisor III in underwriting and business development activities.
  • Conducts underwriting/adjudication on commercial credit applications in excess of other lenders’ discretionary limits and within their own limits, and makes recommendations for applications outside of their limits, through sound and consistent analysis and underwriting practices.
  • Ensures loans are in compliance with standard of sound business practice, legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in overall regulatory compliance by having responsibility for follow-up and resolution of out of order items.
  • Monitors and assesses status of accounts within their portfolio; follows up on assigned delinquent accounts; verifies the reason for delinquency and provides advice and assistance to members on options to mitigate loss and to resolve the delinquency.
  • Identifies problem accounts and appropriate steps to be taken in accordance with established collection policies, procedures and time frames; recommends action on all accounts requiring repossession or foreclosure actions to manager for their review and approval.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with preference given to a B.Com.
  • 3 – 5 years Commercial / Agricultural lending experience
  • Coursework completed in Business / Agricultural Lending and Commercial Mortgages
  • Relevant accreditation in Business Banking
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite

Compensation for this position will reflect the experience, training, and value‐add contribution that the Candidate possesses. A competitive benefits package, deposit and loan program and education programs are also available.
