Human Resources Director

Christian Credit Union is currently seeking a dynamic, service-orientated individual to join our team in the capacity of a part-time Human Resources Director. The Human Resources Director participates in the development of corporate strategies and provides strategic leadership and advice on all Human Resources related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate on the Senior Leadership Team, which includes organization wide strategy development, budgeting, marketing implementation and business development as required and assigned.
  • Ensure all Human Resource programs support the business strategy and the long-term goals of the Credit Union.
  • Develops, implements and coordinates strategies and programs related to all aspects of Human Resource management.
  • Oversee the internal communications function to ensure that corporate staff communication activities are implemented.
  • Advise the CEO and Senior Management on Human Resource issues.
  • Responsible to develop and lead a cohesive 1, 3 and 5 year strategic HR plan for the Credit Union.
  • Ensure all policy is up to date, maintained and followed.
  • Act as an internal resource for all HR policy questions.
  • Lead the recruitment process and develop a talent pipeline for key positions.
  • Responsible to build lasting connections in the community for recruitment.
  • Create and lead a people development plan for the Credit Union for all levels of staff.
  • Develop Credit Union managers through focused coaching, ad hoc development and structured leadership development events.
  • Ensure the values of the Credit Union are integrated through the Human Resources function, staff events and care are completed with excellence and the social committee is functioning and fully resourced.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • 7+ years experience in an HR leadership role
  • CPHR designation is an asset
  • Coaching training or designation is an asset.
  • Experience with an HRIS is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

 Required Skills, Knowledge and Attributes

  • Firm grasp of employment standards and payroll laws.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Able to escalate and seek direction for workload constraints in a timely manner.
  • Displays a positive attitude towards work, co-workers and managers.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite

Compensation

Compensation for this position will reflect the experience, training, and value‐add contribution that the Candidate possesses. A competitive benefits package, deposit and loan program and education programs are also available.
