ESCE West School Building Project

The Edmonton Society for Christian Education (ESCE) stepped out in faith to open Edmonton Christian Schools in 1949, and they have been welcoming new families ever since. Today 1,485 students from 850 families are enrolled at their schools. More than 3,000 parents and supporters actively uphold this ministry with their time, prayer and
financial support.

In 1999 the Society entered into a partnership with Edmonton Public Schools to operate Edmonton Christian Schools. However, the Society remains responsible for the Christian program as well as buildings, facilities and the transportation system. The West school campus underwent a significant expansion 30 years ago which included building several modular classrooms. These need to be replaced to accommodate the school’s current needs and allow for future growth.

Christian Credit Union has a long history of working with the society by providing business banking services, a youth banking program, and financial literacy presentations. We understand the Society’s unique needs and challenges and their vision for the future. By providing $13.6 million in loans we are privileged to support their mission which reads, “Responding to God’s grace, Edmonton Christian Schools challenges students, through Christ-centred education, to actively play their role in God’s story.”

Emmanuel Home Nearing Completion

Emmanuel Home New North Wing Construction ProjectChristian Credit Union is pleased to partner with Emmanuel Home and provide financing for their new north wing construction project. We have been watching this project since spring 2018 and it is exciting to see it nearing completion. The north wing features spacious one-bedroom (800 sq ft) or two-bedroom (1126 sq ft) suites and will be joined to the existing east wing by a new common/social area for all residents. More than 80% of the suites are already confirmed but there are still several suites to choose from. So, if you or a loved one would like to live in a supportive and loving Christian retirement community, please contact Sonja at 780.478.2051 or sonja@emmanuelhome.ca.

God Uses Ebenezer House to Mobilize Prayer

God Uses Ebenezer House to Mobilize Prayer

The vision for Ebenezer House was born when Martin and Marlene Boardman were driving from Brooks to Drumheller, AB and stopped to look at a property for sale with a red and white chapel. They imagined a place where people could pray together, encourage each other, and be led by the Holy Spirit.

It took two years and three attempts to purchase the property and during that time the Boardmans’ faith was stretched. It took time to sell their current property, and they met roadblocks with other financial institutions who slowed down the process and didn’t understand their unique needs.

Christian Credit Union took the opportunity to be part of something that God was building, simplified the approval process, and provided financing in 48 hours. Recently, many prayers were answered by our heavenly Father when the vision for Ebenezer House became a reality.

Martin Boardman is Prayer Mobilizer for Dunamis Fellowship Canada, working with Presbyterian Reformed Ministries International. For more information, visit https://www.dunamisfellowshipcanada.org/

Blue Rein Ranch

Blue Rein Ranch

Blue Rein Ranch offers a blend of counselling and animal assisted therapy to help people heal from trauma and abuse, as well as cope with mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, ADHD, or grief. Marvin and Erica VandenHoek were operating the business on their ranch but were restricted by the weather and wanted to provide services year round. Christian Credit Union recognized their vision, passion for the future, and desire to serve more people. We provided financing to build an indoor riding arena and participated in a fundraiser for the Blue Rein Ranch Foundation.

St. Albert Canadian Reformed Church

St. Albert Canadian Reformed Church was instituted in 2003 and has over 370 members. The congregation includes many young families and has grown steadily over the last 15 years. They have outgrown their current facility and desire to worship in their own church building. The new church building will promote the communion of saints and help the congregation establish a more permanent presence in the St. Albert community. The new building features a large worship sanctuary, kitchen, children’s nursery, classrooms, and boardroom. Christian Credit Union is pleased to provide a mortgage of $2.6 million.
