Member Service Representative - Permanent - Edmonton

The MSR role performs a variety of member service transactions through multiple delivery channels, exercising discretion and judgment to achieve exceptional member satisfaction. This position is well versed in the full range of products and services offered through the credit union and contributes to the organization’s vision - “To be the recognized leader in applying Christian values to financial services”.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiates and engages in conversations to uncover needs and offer credit union products and solutions to those needs; or make referrals to appropriate staff members.
  • Educates and assists members with self-serve/electronic options and inquiries such as online and mobile banking.
  • Fosters member relationships through service excellence and product knowledge, acting as the first point of contact for members.
  • Processes banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, bill payments, bank drafts, selling foreign currency, cashing cheques and other everyday banking needs.
  • Responds to general telephone and email inquiries.
  • Maintains custody of cash drawer and daily cash holdings, balancing cash each day with receipts and disbursements.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Exemplary Christian character with a desire to promote Biblical financial stewardship.
  • Ability to initiate and engage in discussions with members about potential needs and solutions/products.
  • Strong sense of teamwork and willingness to assist others and contribute to team goals.
  • Possesses Christian Credit Union core values of humble, hungry and people smart.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in a retail or sales environment.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and 1-2 years of experience handling cash transactions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an aptitude towards detail and ability to work well under pressure.
  • High School Diploma required; post-secondary education in business is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with strong computer literacy.

A competitive salary range of $37,535 - $46,919 per annum commensurate with experience along with benefits package, deposit and loan program and education programs are all reasons to consider Christian Credit Union for your career.
